Zoom talk by Cristina Arcenegui Bono – in conversation about her quilt journey

Cristina Arcenegui Bono

This event takes place on 15th May 2021 from 4:30pm to 6:00pm and will take place at a computer near you. It is a Guild event being organised by Region 10, .

Cristina grew up in the South of Spain watching her grandmother and aunt sewing on a treadle machine – which she has proudly inherited.

It wasn’t until she watched the movie “How to Make an American Quilt” that she heard about patchwork for the first time. She immediately became hooked and made her first quilt while pregnant with her son Pablo.

Starting with traditional quilts, Cristina quickly moved on to modern quilts and is now well known for her pictorial and fantasy whole cloth quilts.  In 2003 she read about long arm quilting machines. Seeing this as a perfect opportunity to work from home, she established her long-arm quilting business and now teaches and lectures internationally.

The lecture will follow Cristina’s journey from beginner to professional with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion throughout her talk.
