I am a freelance patchwork and quilting teacher working in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. My background is in adult education and I have been teaching in Further Education for 30 years.
I currently teach 2 classes per week in South Yorkshire.
I have lectured and taught at the Quilters Guild Conference in Harrogate in 2015 and Newcastle in 2018.
I have spoken at Quilters Guild Regional Days in Yorkshire, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Durham.
I will be lecturing and teaching at Regional days in Kent and Suffolk in 2019 and 2020.
I currently offer two talks and can offer workshops linked to these talks.
1. American Feed Sacks and Depression Era Quilts.
Background information regarding the 1930s quilts made of feedsacks. A slide show followed by a display of lots of feed sacks and 1930s vintage American quilts.

2. Liberated or Improv Quilting.
A talk which focuses on the origins of liberated quilting, starting with the Amish, through the Gees Bend quilters through to the modern improv quilters. A slide show followed by a display of my collection of liberated and improv quilts.
